Our Lady of Pets, Refuge of Sinners
I started creating the "Our Lady of Pets" series back in 1991.  I love painting her in her various animal forms saving the pet world from bad things.  I always have painted her in gouache on watercolour paper and this one is the same.  I love using gouache paint which is an opaque watercolor medium that is very forgiving and gives me the vibrant color that I like.  More "Our Ladies" to come.....

OBrien Original Painted Stools

Our Lady of Pets
Well I just started my new website for the first bunch of hand painted stools that I have available now.  I don't know if this link will work but if not just type it in and check out the stools.  This particular stool is from my "Our Lady of Pets" series. If you have any suggestions for the look please let me know...thanks for looking too.  http://www.zhibit.org/obrienpaintedstools

Changing with the times

Indienne Flowers with Creatures
I have decided to work on hand painted art stools for a while...while the rain falls, the winter is cold and the wind blows...it is quite meditative to work on these pieces so it lends itself to cold winter days.  And they are bright and cheerful so that helps with the dark days!  My daughter, Taylor, has been working on them with me so it has been a lot of fun having her around to chat with and also get more stools done!  I will be making a website soon for them as well for marketing and promotion.  Let me know what you think!!
